If you pay much attention to Youtube, you’ve probably seen many top channels giving significant looks into the gameplay of this strategic warzone masterpiece.

For Honor is described on its steam page with:

“Carve a path of destruction through an intense, believable battlefield in For Honor.

CONQUER FOES ALONE OR WITH FRIENDS

For Honor offers an engaging single-player campaign and thrilling multiplayer.

INNOVATIVE ART OF BATTLE CONTROL SYSTEM

While it has received mixed reviews overall, the game has definitely piqued the interests of many gamers whether they are interested in hacking and slashing or the strategy and teamwork aspects to the game.

4: Injustice 2

NetherRealm Studios are an absolute juggernaut when it comes to successful and fantastic fighting video games. Injustice 2, winning awards from critics already, is certainly a continuation of this trend.

Following the massive success of its predecessor, we can only assume lightning will strike twice.

NetherRealm Studios describes the game as, “Injustice 2 is the super-powered sequel to the hit game Injustice: Gods Among Us that allows players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favorite DC characters. Featuring a massive selection of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains, players can personalize iconic DC characters with unique and powerful gear earned throughout the game. Additionally, for the first time, gamers can take control of how their characters look, fight and develop across a variety of game modes.”

It will likely be a tournament favorite for years to come, and with plenty of apparent re-playability in its system of customization.

3: Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Perhaps one of the best horror games to come out in recent memory, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has proven a worthy installment to the Resident Evil series. And definitely earns its spot on this list.

It is described on Steam with, “Resident Evil 7 biohazard is the next major entry in the renowned Resident Evil series and sets a new course for the franchise as it leverages its roots and opens the door to a truly terrifying horror experience. A dramatic new shift for the series to first person view in a photorealistic style powered by Capcom’s new RE Engine, Resident Evil 7 delivers an unprecedented level of immersion that brings the thrilling horror up close and personal.

Set in modern day rural America and taking place after the dramatic events of Resident Evil® 6, players experience the terror directly from the first person perspective. Resident Evil 7 embodies the series’ signature gameplay elements of exploration and tense atmosphere that first coined “survival horror” some twenty years ago; meanwhile, a complete refresh of gameplay systems simultaneously propels the survival horror experience to the next level.”

If you haven’t watched your favorite Youtubers lose their mind to the game, you should at least try it for yourself.

2: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

That’s right, the one I’ve already mentioned. It’s just that good.

The newest installment to The Legend of Zelda series comes to the gaming world attached to its newest innovative console from Nintendo: the Switch.

While the Switch overall has mixed reviews, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild put up fantastic numbers across the board with critics and is a massive success. The sheer amount of things to do, places to explore, and paths to accomplish things in the game is nothing short of fascinating, as any given play through can go completely different routes.

For that and plenty more, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild earns its spot on this list.

1: Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar Games has brought gem after gem to the gaming world for a long time. Red Dead Redemption in particular stood out as an amazing title, and its sequel looks to continue the legacy.

It is described on Rockstar Games website with, “Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”

If it can convert even a fraction of the wonder and ingenuity the original brought, Red Dead Redemption 2 could very well end up game of the year for 2017. Only time will tell.
